SECRET BASE X GHOSTBUSTERS X STAY PUFT X 7 IN designer collectible toy

A striking exploration of commercial nostalgia and anatomical vulnerability, this rare Japanese sofubi (soft vinyl) sculpture reimagines the iconic Ghostbusters Stay Puft Marshmallow Man through a dualistic lens. Developed in collaboration with visionary American artist Jason Freeny and pioneered by Tokyo’s legendary boutique house Secret Base, the piece masterfully juxtaposes pop-culture innocence with structural biology. One half retains the pristine, smooth facade of the monolithic commercial mascot, while the other splits open into a transparent, clear-vinyl window—revealing a dark, skeletonized interior suspended with brilliant silver glitter. Freeny’s signature dissection transforms a symbol of mass-media comfort into a captivating, avant-garde study of hidden depth and physical form.
